Hannes about 2010:
“Autumn was quite challenging, primarily due to the wet weather conditions. Yet we were highly satisfied with the final vegetation period, and achieved physiological ripened grapes. The 2010 vintage is quite typically “Styrian”; with lots of freshness coupled with crisp acidity and extract.”
Welschriesling Klassik
Attractive aromas of granny smith and golden delicious, over citrus lemon. Well balanced with crisp, fresh structure. Approachable style and easy to drink.
Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) Klassik
Expressive notes of hazelnuts over bitter almond flavours. Citrus lime freshness supported by a juicy, yet lean structure. Elegant style with a lingering aftertaste.
Morillon (Chardonnay) Klassik
Aromas of hay and baked bread intertwined with dried herbs and condiments, and a touch of saltiness. Develops on the palate into quite a full-bodied wine, that retains its clear and defined structure.
Sauvignon blanc Klassik
Ripe aromas of blackcurrants and gooseberries over delicate, spicy notes. Clear, defined mineral characters supported by a juicy fruit extract and a vibrant freshness. Superb balance, with a fresh, crisp structure that follows through to a long, flavoursome finish.
“During vinification, I work to give wines with low alcohol the full flavour that the variety deserves. This can often be difficult to achieve with the more restrained, neutral Pinot varieties, yet I am very pleased with the Sauvignon Blanc this year!“
Gelber Muskateller (Yellow Muscat) Klassik
Lemon blossom over citrus lime, with nuances of herb characters. The palate is light-bodied and refreshing, with a delicate structure. The result is a pleasant, fun and easy drinking Summer wine with character.
Scheurebe Klassik
Aromas of hay and meadow flowers over nuances of hops. Soft and silky structure with clear varietal character with delicate fruit flavours and a straight-forward finish.

2008 Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) Jägerberg
Attractive aromas of cocoa over subtle caramel notes, over highly ripe, tropical fruit characters of melon and a hint of pistachio nut. Expressive baroque style, soft and well balanced. Simply Pinot Gris.
2009 Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) Jägerberg
Cocoa and nuances of cordial, over dark spices and chocolate. Still restrained with complex characters. A top-class Pinot Gris that displays true varietal character, a full body with elegance and complexity.
2009 Sauvignon blanc Kranachberg
Highly aromatic bouquet with piquant nettle leaf, salty mineral and floral herb characters. A supple, soft structure with a creamy texture and attractive melon flavours. A complex wine with a wealth of character, with very long development potential.
By the way, we also tasted a Grauburgunder Jägerberg 2008, which has been left open in the bottle for 2 months(!) and was nearly as fresh as the newly opened bottle – proof for the enormous ageing potential of Hannes’ wines...
