Wineart with tradition

The Rabl winery is a family run business: Father Rudolf Rabl senior manages the vineyards with his decade-long experience; his wife Irina takes care of the eastern European markets and Rudi’s wife Christiane of administration. Rudi Rabl junior is the oenologist and he manages the winery in all matters.

The Kamptal winegrowing area lies some 60 km west of Vienna and offers a unique microclimate and diverse soils with a multitude of minerals. Excellent soils are essential for producing top-quality grapes. The vineyards — Käferberg, Schenkenbichl, Steinmassl and Steinhaus - are some of the best granite bedrock soil vineyards in and around Langenlois. And Spiegel and Kittmannsberg with their rich loess soils are of the same high calibre.

The wine range is clearly structured: the basic wines are light and fruit driven for immediate drinking pleasure. V.O. (Vinum Optimum) stands for medium rich wines made from selected grapes (old vines) for food pairing. The single vineyard wines show the terroir of their origin and show great ageing potential. The proportion of red wines is about 20%. Rudi Rabl is also one of the most awarded producers of sweet wines in recent years from Kamptal.
